Mission Statement
Lightwriters exists to assist photographers and film makers to use their lenses and talents for good.

Our three main objectives
1. Help local non profits by providing professional images and video free of charge.  This helps them tell their story more thoroughly, which brings in more volunteers and donations.

2. Travel worldwide to help tell the stories of the disenfranchised.

3. Provide art therapy as way to help children recover from atrocities.

HOW THIS ALL WORKS
I have spoken to dozens of photographers during my career who wanted to shoot for a cause.  They wanted to make a difference with their talent but they just didn’t have an outlet.  After thinking and praying about this for years LW was born.

This is a grassroots effort to provide amazing images and videos to non profits who don’t have the time, skills or budget to get these services any other way.

When you sign up for membership you join a big hearted group of talented folk who feel it’s better to give than to receive.

Once your application is accepted your name and website link will be added to the ‘members map’.  When an opportunity arises in your area we will email all the artists in your area and inform you of the need.  It is 100% up to you if you accept the shoot, however, if you do we expect the same level of courtesy and professionalism you show your paying clients.

If you choose to accept the shoot we ask that you comply with our code of conduct and content delivery expectations on our FAQ page.

Being a Lightwriter is a state of mind.  It’s the choice to help others with your talents.  It’s about giving back and I am so grateful you are considering joining.

Founder

LW was founded by photographer Dustin Bryson after moving to West Texas and retiring from professional shooting.  He wanted a way to use his camera for something meaningful that would leave a lasting impact on this planet.
